An exhausted (happily) reflection

So i am finally done with my Dual Monitor setup.

 

one on HDMI and the other one on VGA – the detection was automatic which is an utter bliss. Hardware adding is so easy nowadays – no need to install drivers etc….(god those were the ancient days)

it’s actually really a huge leadp in productivity/multitasking with this setup – i find it actually more useful than e.g. a doubling of processor speed (since i dun really do much huge computations) – having the monitor real estate just reduces the useless toggling etc.

so now i am really tired after 4hrs of walking and the setup (prior to that was the clearing of the desk etc)

bur yer – i am a happy dude.

i came to realise how much i have missed for the past few years working soo hard – i totally missed the expansion of the circle line – as well the enjoy-breakfast-slowly and not having the blackberry bugging u all the time.

i look forward to the resignation.

Friday Fun

First day of vacations – well it is not really true vacation – rather it’s the offday from the Hari Raya work compensation.

First stop – Comex. it’s fun!

Got a Samsung 22″ HD monitor  (yes HD is better than flat panel – it’s clearer) with HDMI/VGA (yes i dun even know what HDMI is until now) – hopefully i get my setup working as a dual monitor later today. 218 SGD comes with free HDMI cable (well it’s only 20 SGD cheaper than what i see elsewhere during a promotion…)

and got this:

only 66 SGD  (comes with a toner worth 32 SGD) – and u need to buy one extra toner – each services 700 sheets.

i was thinking of getting a MFC but the price difference was 50 SGD – i doubt i ever need to spend >50SGD on copying and scanning if i pay someone on a per-use basis – so the simpler the better! it even comes with a lil trolley so it’s just hilarious. On the whole the Comex is not really that much cheaper than usual promotions – i spent 6.60 SGD on parking for 3hrs so net it’s probably just a big waste of time kekeke.

Next collected the SAFRA AHM race pack and the free 2XU running tee from Kallang Leisure Park. It’s the first time i am using the circle line and it is rather impressive i gotta say (but i guess opinions sway fast once it gets super paced during peak hrs) – the way to go is definitely for a denser connection of subways so driving becomes totally unnecessary…

and finally…

Nasi Lemak @ golden shoe!! 2.80 only for the rice, drumstick, egg, luncheon meat and peanuts! and it taste really good – and Kopi-O at 70cents! I admire the wiry old couple manning the drinks store – the man was all hunched back and yet soldering on….i’m going back to support his biz mate…

it’s sad to see all these affordable and good tasting food disappearing from the local landscape – only to be replaced by foodcourt with factory produced processed food costing 3* as much – in reality the consumer is just paying for the rent and the huge markup. it is going to be a disaster when it dominates and the consumer is left with no choice….

this thing easily costs 3.50 in most places and in foodcourts (so u pay for the a/c) – easily 4-5 bucks.

Accidents+Foreign Talents

accident along Bukit Batok Road

saw 2 cars involved – the car in front was wrecked – caused a massive pileup of traffic tailing all the way back.

so as i was driving pass, i saw the drivers as well as 2 bangladeshis – the latter apparently preparing to give some money to the former.

so it must have been a case of the B jaywalking or some crap and leading to the crashes.

i was thinking – mate – the bumper alone is going to cost upwards of 150 SGD – there goes ur salary for the mth. use ur brains will ya??

National Day Rally – r our people ungracious?

what do u expect for heaven’s sakes?

u wakeup, and go to work.

the public transporation is crowded and u cannot get onto the train/bus.

u call a cab and cannot get thru.

u buy a car which is way too expensive and yet roads are so crowded.

everyday u see 2-3 accidents on the roads and 50 people switching lanes to avoid buses on the left and right turning vehicles on the right.

u get to work and it is a whole day of shit where everyone tries to screw u.

get off work and same traffic repeats.

u go home and it’s a lil piece of crap costing half a million dollars and u know u need to work for the rest of ur life to pay it off.

20km LSD

well it’s a better run than last week – again the intent is really to limit damage and not hurt the heel niggly pain but yet loosen the muscles (and fats!) and get the core used to the torture.

the first 10km was ok – it felt sigh @ 5km but i started enjoying the good weather starting from 8km til the half way mark.

the return trip was just a walk fest – i just lost interest in the pain. couple of chicks were practicing their tri – it was sexy watching them in the barebacks and the short bottoms. yum.
