25km in 3h42min. so 8.9min/km. totally disgusting.

it was 6:30 min/km for the first 6km, and then it just degenerated from there as i conked out. i hit the wall at 20km (2h50min) and in short walked the last 5km unable to run >500m.
puked as i reached my car – i was really stuffed with fluids – i had clearly overhydrated perhaps cos i wasn’t sweating that much due to all the walking. lil nap later, a coke down and i am feeling much better now. phew.
the 3 weeks of inactivity after the fall clearly affected my stamina and the wounds were really itchy during the run. i should have done the first 15km effortlessly and i think i paid the price for the injury.
nonetheless, longest ever run i have done in my life and i am glad (now! certainly not a few hrs before) to have done it. but seriously, if the 25km hurt so much, i cannot imagine the marathon, much less the ironman….hats off to these people seriously.
saw a man with a prosthetic and i feel really touched seeing all the people offering their wellwishes. people are good, some of them.
